What our Patients says about us
Dr. Sunder Narasimhan is an outstanding vascular specialist whose expertise literally salvaged and stabilized my father's dialysis access. My father had an AV fistula that developed flow issues due to venous narrowing. Multiple vascular surgeons assessed the situation and concluded that the fistula was beyond salvage, creating a new one was the only option. We had almost accepted this, but Dr. Sunder refused to give up. What he did next was nothing short of extraordinary. He meticulously performed a detailed fistulogram, identified a window of possibility that others had missed, and successfully salvaged the fistula through a painstaking fistuloplasty. It was the kind of intervention that required not just skill, but conviction, the belief that a patient's existing fistula is worth fighting for. Thanks to Dr. Sunder, what seemed impossible became reality, and my father continues dialysis safely through his original fistula. He was equally meticulous with permacath management, removing it only after the fistula was consistently usable and planning further evaluation of the catheter vein to rule out post-catheter venous stenosis. Importantly, he insisted that such assessments be done in a controlled OT setting as a day-care procedure rather than OPD, reflecting his strong safety-first approach. His surgical mastery, calm reassurance, and the genuine care he showed at every step gave our family immense confidence during an anxious time. It's now been 5 weeks since the procedure, and the fistula continues to function well. We feel fortunate to have found a doctor who combines deep expertise with patient-first approach. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sunder, we couldn't recommend him more highly for anyone needing vascular care.
My dad is 84 years old, and he was suffering from aortic arch saccular aneurysm. We consulted doctor Sunder Narasimhan in Apollo hospital Bannerghatta, and we are deeply grateful to him for the exceptional care and expertise shown during my father's complex bypass surgery. Given my father's age and health condition, it was a high-risk procedure, but Dr. Sunder handled it with remarkable skill. He explained every step with patience and reassurance, which brought us immense comfort during a very anxious time. Thanks to his expertise and the dedicated medical team, the surgery and recovery went smoothly. My father is now on the path to good health. Dr. Sunder Narasimhan is not only an outstanding vascular surgeon but also a compassionate human being who truly cares for his patients. Sometimes, surgery can become complex, but his decisive actions were incredible, and my father is safe and strong now. Words can not express the depth of our gratitude for the extraordinary care and expertise you extended. Thank you for being not just a brilliant doctor but also a true lifesaver. Our family will forever remain indebted to you. With deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude.
We are extremely grateful to Dr. Sunder and his entire varicose care team for the excellent treatment and guidance provided to my mother. The doctor clearly understood her condition and immediately explained the right steps for recovery with great patience and clarity. Every question was answered calmly, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. A special thanks to Mamta Ma’am for her constant support, kindness, and coordination throughout the process. Her care and attention truly made a difference. Highly recommend Dr. Sunder and his team for anyone seeking expert and compassionate care for varicose treatment.
Consulted Dr Sunder Narasimhan for varicose vein. He is an exceptional vascular and surgeon. When I was diagnosed, it was just 10 days for my flight to US. Without wasting any time, same day I underwent EVLT, and I was ready to fly. Writing this after 45 days and I am perfectly alright. Thank you so much sir. His thorough examination, clear explanations, and personalized advice made me feel confident in his care. I appreciate his expertise and compassionate approach. Must appreciate all his associates who are ready to help us all through. Highly recommended!"
Outstanding vascular surgeon with rare humility and hands-on excellence I was treated under Dr. Sunder Narasimhan at Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru for angiogram and angioplasty of the lower limbs, along with evaluation of renal vascular issues. I came in with complex symptoms and, frankly, a strong reluctance toward hospitalization. Dr. Narasimhan changed that completely. From the first interaction, he demonstrated a rare balance of clinical clarity, quiet confidence, and genuine empathy. He explained the diagnosis and treatment plan in simple, reassuring terms, took time to answer every concern, and never once made me feel rushed or dismissed. What truly stood out was how personally involved he remained throughout my treatment. Despite being a highly senior and experienced vascular surgeon, he was hands-on at every stage—diagnosis, procedures, follow-up, and recovery planning. That level of accountability and humility is uncommon. The angiogram and angioplasty of my lower limbs were performed with precision and care, and the renal vascular evaluation was handled thoughtfully, keeping my overall health in focus rather than treating issues in isolation. His approach gave me confidence not just in the procedure, but in the path to recovery. I have interacted with medical professionals across India and abroad, and I can say without hesitation that Dr. Narasimhan’s medical acumen, bedside manner, and leadership are exceptional. He made me feel at home at a time when I was most vulnerable. As the CEO of Jinisha Global Ventures, working to build a sustainable rural economy, I deeply value professionals who lead with integrity, responsibility, and compassion. Dr. Narasimhan has been a significant force behind my recovery, and I move forward with confidence because of his care. Grateful beyond words. Highly recommended. — Angshuman Lahkar CEO, Jinisha Global Ventures, Guwahati, Assam
I had a wonderful experience with the varicose veins specialist. The doctor explained my condition very clearly and suggested the best treatment option with full confidence. The procedure was smooth, painless, and professionally handled. The staff were also very supportive and caring throughout the process. I am extremely satisfied with the results and feel much better now. I truly appreciate the doctor’s dedication, expertise, and friendly approach. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone looking for the best treatment for varicose veins.
We consulted Dr. Sundar for varicose veins and vein dilatation in my wife’s left lower limb, which was causing pain during pregnancy and after her C-section delivery. To our surprise, he diagnosed blood clots in the veins, some located in areas that could have progressed to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). Dr. Sundar promptly advised admission and performed a saphenous vein ligation under local anaesthesia. He clearly explained every step of the procedure, and the surgery was successful. Dr. Sundar is an exceptionally trustworthy and skilled vascular surgeon, with a clear focus on addressing the underlying concern to prevent complications like DVT and Pulmonary Embolism (PE). We are also deeply thankful to his excellent team, especially Mamatha, who was our point of contact for admission, appointments, and any clarifications with the doctor. Her constant coordination and reassurance made the entire process smooth and stress-free. We truly appreciate the team’s dedication, transparency, and post-surgery care, which helped my wife recover quickly and return to normal life with our newborn. We highly recommend Dr. Sundar and his team for their commendable expertise, compassion, and patient-first approach. One of the best vascular specialists we’ve come across — we feel truly grateful and fortunate to have been under their care.
We went to Dr. Sundar with the patient having multiple sores in the ankles. In one sitting he conducted the physical examination and the scan. He explained patiently the findings as the scan progressed, so that we are aware of extent of progression of the problem. He swiftly drew his inference, gave his recommendations about surgery and treatment for an advanced stage of varicose veins. I was particularly impressed with the single room/location for physical examination+scan+inference+recommendation all within 30 mins. With his experience shining through, his excellent explanation of the condition and also of the pros and cons of surgery enabled us to also take an informed decision about proceeding with the surgery. His guidance on pre-surgery preparation was very clear and on surgery day, despite having a busy & tiring full day in the OT, he took the time to explain in detail how the surgery went. In addition to his strong medical guidance, we found him to be very sensitive to other aspects of hospital-patient interaction (including our travel planning!) and in this aspect our experience was exemplary. Also, he has an excellent eam in Mamatha & Vani. Mamatha was our point of contact for coordination for appointments, admission and clarifications, she was very patient with our many queries and very effective in her support. Vani provided doctor consultation room support and was sharp and swift. Fantastic team overall of doctor and his assistants. This team truly went way beyond normal methods & procedures in caring for the patient and in supporting us. Sincere thanks to this team.
By Akila Ramesh : I sincerely thank Dr.Sunder Narasimhan (Vascular Surgeon) and his team for their kindness and timely EVLT (Varicose Laser Surgery) on 27/05/26 which eradicate my pain instantly. I sincerely thank the doctor, his team and all healthcare professionals. His advice on Pre and Post surgery was very useful and Informative. Iam very much satisfied about this incident and I too recommend this doctor for the given problem to everyone. Once again I thank the Dr.Sunder Narasimhan and his team.
recently underwent a procedure to remove carotid artery block with Dr. Sundar Narasimhan and his competent team. I was briefed thoroughly on how the procedure would be conducted beforehand so I knew what to expect. The post-op care was also excellent. I'm grateful to Dr. Narasimhan for the right advice, encouragement, and ongoing support that I'm receiving on my road to recovery.
I had a very good experience with Dr. Sunder for my varicose veins treatment. He is extremely knowledgeable and pays great attention to detail, which gave me confidence throughout the treatment process. EVLT procedure was handled professionally, and I am satisfied with the outcome. I would also like to appreciate his entire team for their support and care before and after the procedure. They were courteous and helpful at every step. There was a slight delay in the surgery schedule, and I felt that communication could have been better from the co-ordinators since the doctors were busy handling emergencies. Communication regarding insurance and room rents also could have been better. However, the quality of treatment and overall care made up for these minor issues. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sunder and his team to anyone seeking treatment for varicose veins.
Excellent doctor with a human touch. Needless to say about his expertise. We consulted Dr Sunder Narasimhan for my 83 year old father for Varicose veins. He did a thorough analysis and recommended Laser treatment. We were very concerned if the laser procedure/anaesthesia would be safe given my father's age. Dr Sunder Narasimhan listened patiently and assured us that he will personally do the procedure and as promised he delivered. We had a post operation review with the doctor today and my father is happy with the treatment. Thanks to Mamatha, Vani , Janani who facilitated us and made us comfortable.

What does a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon treat?
A Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon treats disorders of arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels across the body. This includes conditions like aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, varicose veins, DVT, diabetic foot problems, and traumatic vascular injuries. They use both open surgical techniques and minimally invasive options like angioplasty, stenting, and laser ablation to restore blood flow, prevent limb loss, and ensure safe long-term vascular health.
When should I consult a vascular specialist?
You should consult a vascular specialist if you have leg pain while walking, non-healing foot wounds, varicose veins, numbness, discoloration, swelling, sudden leg pain, or a history of diabetes or smoking. People with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or previous strokes should also seek screening. Early consultation helps diagnose hidden vascular blockages, prevents complications like gangrene or stroke, and allows timely intervention using advanced endovascular methods.
What is peripheral arterial disease (PAD)?
Peripheral arterial disease occurs when arteries in the legs become narrowed or blocked due to plaque buildup, reducing blood flow. It commonly causes leg pain while walking, cold feet, slow-healing wounds, or numbness. PAD is especially common in diabetics and smokers. If untreated, it can progress to critical limb ischemia and even amputation. Early diagnosis through Doppler studies and treatment with angioplasty, stenting, or bypass surgery can restore circulation.
How are varicose veins treated today?
Varicose veins are managed using modern minimally invasive treatments that avoid major surgery. Procedures like Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT), VenaSeal glue therapy, sclerotherapy, and radiofrequency ablation close faulty veins safely with minimal discomfort. Most treatments are walk-in/walk-out, require only a few minutes, and allow patients to resume normal activities quickly. Dr. Narasimhan pioneered day-care laser ablation in South India, offering highly effective and cosmetically superior outcomes.
What causes diabetic foot ulcers, and how are they managed?
Diabetic foot ulcers develop due to reduced blood flow, nerve damage, and delayed healing in diabetic patients. Poor circulation increases the risk of infection and limb loss. Management includes restoring blood flow using angioplasty or bypass surgery, wound debridement, infection control, and advanced dressings. With a 98% limb-salvage rate, Dr. Narasimhan focuses on early detection, precision procedures, and comprehensive foot care to prevent amputations and improve long-term mobility.
What is carotid artery disease, and why is it serious?
Carotid artery disease occurs when arteries supplying blood to the brain become narrowed due to plaque. It can cause transient ischemic attacks, stroke, or sudden neurologic symptoms. Timely diagnosis through ultrasound or CT angiography is essential. Treatment options include carotid endarterectomy or stenting, depending on severity. Safe and early intervention prevents stroke and improves long-term brain health, especially in patients with hypertension, diabetes, or smoking history.
What are aortic aneurysms, and how are they treated?
An aortic aneurysm is a dangerous bulge in the largest artery that can rupture if untreated. Screening is important for older adults, smokers, and those with family history. Treatment is based on size and risk, ranging from regular monitoring to minimally invasive Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) or open surgical repair. With advanced training across three countries, Dr. Narasimhan provides both approaches with excellent safety and recovery outcomes.
What is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?
DVT occurs when a blood clot forms in deep veins of the legs, causing pain, swelling, and heaviness. If the clot travels to the lungs, it can cause a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. Diagnosis is done with Doppler ultrasound. Treatment includes blood thinners, catheter-directed thrombolysis, endovascular clot removal, and stenting for severe cases. Early management prevents long-term complications like post-thrombotic syndrome and chronic leg swelling.
How are vascular injuries from trauma managed?
Vascular injuries from accidents, fractures, or penetrating wounds require urgent attention to prevent limb loss or life-threatening bleeding. Treatment may include vessel repair, grafting, or endovascular stenting depending on the injury. Dr. Narasimhan’s experience with trauma-related vascular repairs ensures rapid restoration of blood flow, meticulous surgical technique, and close follow-up. Early intervention reduces complications, preserves limb function, and supports optimal recovery.
What are endovascular procedures, and why are they preferred?
Endovascular procedures are minimally invasive vascular treatments performed through tiny needle punctures instead of open surgery. Using advanced imaging, catheters, balloons, and stents, surgeons can treat blockages, aneurysms, or vascular malformations with faster recovery and minimal pain. Because these procedures avoid large incisions, they are safer for elderly patients and those with multiple health conditions. Dr. Narasimhan’s hybrid OT facility ensures precision and world-class outcomes.
What is vascular access surgery, and who needs it?
Vascular access surgery creates a reliable blood vessel connection for patients needing long-term dialysis or frequent medical infusions. This includes AV fistulas, grafts, and catheter insertions. Successful access ensures efficient dialysis, prevents complications, and avoids repeated needle trauma. As vascular access procedures require precision and long-term monitoring, being treated by an experienced vascular surgeon like Dr. Narasimhan significantly improves durability and patient comfort.
How do vascular specialists prevent amputations in high-risk patients?
Amputation prevention depends on early diagnosis, restoring blood flow, controlling infection, and continuous monitoring. For diabetics and patients with severe PAD, timely angioplasty, stenting, or bypass surgery can save the limb. Dr. Narasimhan’s 98% limb-salvage success is based on advanced imaging, aggressive revascularization, and comprehensive foot care. Community screening camps and early intervention strategies help detect disease early and prevent avoidable amputations.
